Japan – Un- Chillfiltered 46% ABV

A delightful fling with Ruby port pipes is the most recent in Kaiyo’s special release cask finish series. The unfiltered malt whisky ages in Japanese Mizunara oak for three years before spending three months at sea, like all of Kaiyo’s whiskies. After traveling back to Japan, it matures for a another seven years before taking a four-month break in old Ruby port pipes.

On the nose, candied orange and toasted marshmallow come through first, followed by notes of mango and sandalwood. With amazing viscosity and a protracted finish, hints of peppermint and dark chocolate linger on the mouth. at 46% alcohol by volume.
